Report
Through the endless downpour we returned to the Valley of the Three Rainbows. We spent the night huddled in a narrow canyon cut into the valley wall. Eryndor suggested we try the front door this time, and so we made our cautious approach beyond the curtain wall. In a barracks we found animate skeletal sentries that meant us no harm, but warned us of the Beast. We smashed the sleeping sentries at the guard posts and entered through the huge gates into a passage lined with murder holes. Through another set of gates we came to the inner courtyard. A trio of wheezing skeletons assailed us, but Crazy Bastard turned them and they quickly fell to our blows.
We continued northward and west through a hallway choked with detritus and weeds growing through the cracked slate floor. Eryndor opened a door to the west, and six semi-intelligent ghouls made a vicious assault. Crazy Bastard and Vetna were brought low, Eryndor drew two away to the north, and when all seemed lost, our saviour Tinkersack entangled the ghouls in place. Ethereal and Meerga pulled Vetna and Roland to safety and the ghouls fell to our missiles. We raided their lair, a decrepit gardener’s workshop, plopped the paralyzed Vetna in a wheelbarrow, and made for the exit. And lo, at the threshold of the crumbling gatehouse, Gilbert the Fox held us up with his men, taking a paltry sum of 20 gold pieces from Ethereal. We went east around the south end of the lake, to the beach caves, and traversed the tunnel therein to reach the cellars of the winery. Stuffing the bottles of good wine in our sacks, we returned to Renth.
