Report
We met up in Renth, introducing ourselves to Lucius and Bashar at the Renth branch of the Worshipful Company of Fortune-Seekers. They rented us a horse and cart and we made our way up the wide, disused trail toward the Valley of the Three Rainbows. We passed the solitary monastery and went down into the valley, where Castle Xyntillan perched on the south edge of the long, crystal-blue lake.
We moved around the south side of the castle. Rodrick hooked his grappling hook on an open second-storey window and we ascended up to a rotted feasting hall. The druid Ethereal interrogated a mouse to learn the hall to the north was often occupied. Maria entered the room where she was waited on by headless manservants, but the encounter took a turn for the worse when Ethereal doused the fire in the hearth. The servants moved in retaliation, but were repelled by the power of the gods by both Rodrick and Ethereal.
We explored the lesser library to the west, and a bedroom at the top of the chimney, but were made to retreat by ghostly apparitions in both cases. We looted the northern hall and a room just beyond the musician’s balcony, where the tapestry was found, along with a magical wooden carving, and a pile of snarling, disembodied heads. The looting was only briefly interrupted when a pale young woman clutching a dying floral bouquet asked for directions back to the ground floor.
The horse and cart loaded with lucre, we returned to Renth. A deal was made with Svend of Black Country, the treasure buyer associated with the Fortune-Seeker Company. We returned to Tirth in the following days.
